What Makes a Translation Company a Good Fit for Your Business?

How We Scope a Corporate Translation Project

We start with the files and intended use. A newsletter for customers needs different language decisions from a contract or an internal operating manual. We also consider whether your team needs editable translations, a document matching the source layout, or a PDF for printing.

The projects below show why these details matter. They are accounts of our team's work, rather than independent endorsements by the organisations mentioned.

Corporate Translation Case Studies: The Work in Detail

Case study 01 · Marketing localisation & typesetting

Maersk: Thai Marketing Materials Through a Korean Agency

Our team was commissioned by an agency in Korea to translate marketing materials for Maersk's audience in Thailand. The work included newsletters and booklets, followed by collaboration with our graphic design team on the document layout.

The challenge

The brief went beyond a literal translation. The English marketing copy used imagery and expressions connected with the sea and shipping. A direct rendering could sound difficult or unnatural in Thai, even when the individual words were accurate.

The Thai copy needed to communicate the intended meaning clearly while retaining the character and flow of the marketing message. It also needed to fit a designed publication.

What we did

The outcome

The agency received Thai-language materials with layout completed for their intended use. According to our team's project account, the relationship continued with further assignments.

Case study 02 · Marine insurance & urgent certified translation

ERGO Insurance (Thailand): Four Marine Hull Policies Translated and Certified Within a Seven-Day Delivery Window

Our team handled the English-to-Thai translation of four sets of Marine Hull Insurance Policy documents for an ERGO Insurance (Thailand) project. The assignment combined specialist insurance language, translation certification and physical delivery within a strict seven-day window.

Document typeMarine Hull Insurance Policies
ScopeFour document sets
Language directionEnglish to Thai
Translation completionWithin the first four days
Final deliveryCertified documents in the client's hands within seven days

The challenge

The client allowed seven days for the entire assignment, including delivery. That meant completing the translation within the first four days, leaving time to prepare the certified documents and get them into the client's hands.

These were marine hull insurance policies, so the Thai text needed to preserve the meaning of the insurance terms, coverage provisions and contractual conditions. Speed had to be balanced with careful treatment of the source documents.

What we did

Original English Documents and Thai Translations

Selected document previews. Policy numbers have been removed.

The outcome

All four sets were translated into Thai and certified, with translation completed within the first four days and delivery to the client completed within the seven-day deadline.

Project strength: coordinating specialist insurance translation, certification and physical delivery against one end-to-end deadline.

Case study 03 · Hospitality SOP & bilingual delivery

Mossview Resort SOP: Approximately 57 Pages Translated into English and Chinese in 15 Days

For Longweekend Co., Ltd. (Head Office), our team translated approximately 57 pages of Thai material into English and Chinese under an urgent schedule. The supplied project samples are from the Mossview Resort SOP documentation, including the resort's story.

ClientLongweekend Co., Ltd. (Head Office)
Project materialMossview Resort SOP documentation
Source languageThai
Target languagesEnglish and Chinese
VolumeApproximately 57 pages of source material
TurnaroundBoth language versions delivered within 15 days

The challenge

The project required two complete language versions within a short delivery window. The source material needed to be communicated clearly to English- and Chinese-speaking readers while preserving its meaning and context.

The sample section introduces Mossview Resort's history and development. It illustrates the need to carry a business's story across languages in a way that readers can follow naturally.

What we did

Thai Original, English Translation and Chinese Translation

The outcome

The client received the English and Chinese translations within 15 days. This assignment demonstrates our experience delivering two target-language versions of a substantial Thai document within an urgent project schedule.

Project strength: approximately 57 source pages, two target languages and a completed delivery within 15 days.

Case study 04 · Airline database text & localisation

Qantas Airways: Approximately 84,041 Words of English-to-Thai Database Text

Our team handled an English-to-Thai database-text translation project for Qantas Airways, covering approximately 84,041 words over a 20–30-day project period. The work required readable Thai alongside careful handling of variables and technical syntax embedded in the source strings.

ClientQantas Airways
ContentAirline database text supplied in spreadsheet form
Language directionEnglish to Thai
VolumeApproximately 84,041 words
Project period20–30 days
Key requirementPreserve protected variables, punctuation and designated non-translatable strings

The challenge

Database strings can combine natural language with placeholders that a system replaces at runtime. Translating the message requires understanding which parts are intended for readers and which parts belong to the system.

The brief required colons and double-brace placeholders to remain unchanged. It also identified specific entries to leave untranslated. The task therefore called for language skills and an understanding of the technical structure of the text.

What the Translation Brief Required

These examples show why an ordinary text-only translation approach would be insufficient:

Translate the wording; preserve the protected syntax:

Quote {{PNRCRTDT}} confirmed as PNR:{{PNRREFER}} {{BOKPRTID}} with {{BPTGDETL}} passengers
Reason for travel free text is in an invalid format: {{ITEMVALU}} - {{PAXTITLE}} {{PAXFSTNM}} {{PAXSRNAM}}

Placeholders such as {{PNRCRTDT}}, {{PNRREFER}} and {{PAXFSTNM}} must remain intact, including their spelling and braces. The same applies to the protected colons and other syntax specified in the brief.

Leave these designated entries unchanged:

<span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">[GDSName] Specific Information</span>
PROS Request ID: {{PROSRQID}}

For this assignment, the instruction was to skip those complete entries, including the HTML-containing string. This was a project-specific instruction, rather than a rule that all HTML content is always untranslatable.

What We Did

Source Spreadsheet and Thai Translation Samples

Project Delivery

The assignment covered approximately 84,041 words, with a project period of 20–30 days. The supplied samples show the source and Thai translation fields, including strings containing technical placeholders.

Project strength: handling a substantial airline localisation assignment while distinguishing readable text from protected system syntax.

Case study 05 · Hospitality & multilingual documentation

Hospitality Consultancy: Extensive Manuals in English and Chinese

A business working on hotel and resort renovation projects in Thailand needed extensive documentation translated into English and Chinese. The material covered operational and marketing topics, from back-of-house work to customer-facing activities.

The challenge

The assignment involved hundreds of pages and a limited delivery window of a little over ten days, as recalled by our team. Both language versions needed to communicate the material clearly for the company's teams and intended readers.

What we did

The outcome

Our team reports completing both language versions within the agreed deadline.

Project strength: delivering extensive business documentation in two target languages within a demanding schedule.
